Hey guys, been busy with lots of other projects but just had some time to work on the 87 a little bit... One of the forum members sent me a CDI from an 87 for me to test with but the hook ups are different.... can anybody tell me whats what in these pictures?



Is the CDI the forum member sent me in fact an 87 TW200 CDI??? is the CDI on my bike from a later model or something?



side note - I have a 95 TW and the CDI's are close but not exactly the same the 95 has one or two extra wires and the bike wont run with it



In the first picture i have the CDI from the forum member on the left and the CDI from MY BIKE on the RIGHT

I took individual pictures of each to show the wires better... first is the CDI from MY BIKE

And the one right below is the one the forum member sent me

Your CDI is correct for an '87 TW200. The other one is like no TW200 CDI I've ever seen, I have no idea what it's from.

Thanks, Jvanvuren. I think GMAN sent me a relay on accident! It's good to know that I have the right CDI on my bike that should be there... just wish it worked!

Yes, Gman did send you the wrong thing and is Red-in-the-face about it.

The correct CDI is coming your way as soon as the PO opens tomorrow.

I should have looked closer when I mailed the darn thing last time.

(I'll bet my wife was squawking at me at the time and I went into brain freeze; yeah, I'll blame her for my incompetence)

I sent him a couple of '87 units so he might have enough now, but wouldn't hurt to ask.
