Dang China bikes are getting better. I had a chance to take a CFMOTO 700CL-X for a test ride yesterday. This is a scrambler version of their roadster. First off the engine is a winner. Lots of torque and a pretty fair shifting six speed gearbox. 70MPH in sixth the engine is turning around 4500 RPM's and is pretty smooth. the ergo's worked well for my 30 inch inseam and the forks and shocks did a good job of soaking up the Florida highway bumps. While I don't need another bike and won't buy one from China I've got to admit it was a nice ride and in my eyes a good looking one.

They also had their 800 ADV bike on display. No test rides but I was able to swing a leg over and it felt pretty nice. All the electronic rider aids along with a rear rack and saddle bag supports included. The price listed was $10600.00. That's still a lot of money in my book but it's thousands cheaper than a Honda or Suzuki.

There was a time when nobody would by anything made in Japan. Things change, dont they?
Japan had to prove itself.

China, so far, has proven itself, the opposite way.

I had a Chinese Burgman 400 clone; and while it started fine, pulled strong, and was a third of the price of a Burgman, it blew up with 2600 miles. People who've bought the CSC RX3 have remarked that while it's STYLED a winner, and is okay for commuting...and CSC very supportive...things are not sturdy, and don't hold up under hard use.

I want further proof. The $2300 I spent on my Xingyue, was just about a dollar a mile. That hurt.
