Hey fellas Me and my dad plan on doing the arkansas portion of the TAT in a few weeks and doing some camping. I would like to get some cheap saddlebags like these http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-Stearns-3-Way-Tank-Bag/10928528?findingMethod=rr#Item+Description but I read up some on what ya thought about these and for my '95 the place where it attaches to the gas cap is to small so have any of ya put these on the back of your TW's or any cheap/good suggestions for saddlebags?

Thanks

Have you checked out the Stearns ATV Tank Bag.

Aren't you able to take the gas cap off then put the bag over the opening then put the cap back on?

What about these?

I bought the Walmart jobs the other day for incidentals on our road trip.

The top part is neoprene wetsuit material. The hole is sized for unleaded filler necks but can be cut to fit with scissors. Should fit later bikes withouit cutting.

The biggest problem would be the lower attachment, and keeping them from flopping. They provide Velcro strips to attach it to the tank. On a metal tank you could probably just put some computer magnets inside the bags to keep them from flopping and do aweay with the Velcro. Not sure how we'll attach them to her Clarke yet.

Sew a loop in lightweight nylon strap and sew that to the velcro, then use a small bungie under the tank. I do that with my tank bag and it works great.

EDIT: Maybe a strip of Velcro from the Velcro patch on one side, under the tank, to a velcro patch on the other?
