I thought this was a joke at first, but it just may happen. These are obviously prototypes.

A 3-wheeler with 5 wheels!?

14" suspension? A 70 MPH top speed with large engine option?

Gas and/or electric power?

Off-road & street legal?

Best application? Maybe a cool off-roader for wheelchair guys!

Like any machine this good idea does have its limitations.
Since bicycle and motorcycle style wire wheels are not designed to resist lateral loading they are not capable of capable of resisting much lateral loading. Unlike a motorcycle 3,4 or 5 wheel configurations generate lateral loads when cornering. Look how out of true the drive wheel is at the 30 second mark in the video and one can see the need for a stouter drive wheel design in a production model.
I could imagine tearing off, or deforming the frame should any of the other 4 wheels encounter a trailside "stoppie" like boulder, tree trunk, rock outcrop, etc. Frame and suspension arms do not look capable of resisting much impacts even if entire structure is featherweight.

That thing would fold like a pretzel in actual application. Maybe if the gearing was reduced and the concept was a crawler instead of a flyer... maybe then. I could see someone utilizing it as a hunter to pack into and out of a hunting area. On a beach, except they don't allow gasoline motors usually. Maybe make it electric/battery op and very quiet too.

This reminds me of the "tribrid" tadpole recumbent trike that's been on the internet for awhile now. Runs on leg, battery, or internal combustion power. 4f384ae1.jpg
