When I bought this 2006 TW200 a few months ago, the choke (enrichener)had to be used full time to keep the engine running. Now that a professional motorcycle mechanic has cleaned the carb and replaced a broken pilot jet, the choke kills the engine almost immediately cold or hot. He is baffeled and so am I. He replaced the broken jet with the Yamaha specified #. Idle screw is out about 1 1/2 turns. The engine runs great and the exhaust pipe is clean. The bike only has 700+ miles on it. What gives? Help appreciated.....Dan

Mine is the same way, but my bike is pretty beat up and there is a slight bend in the Choke pull. Depending on which way the bend is facing my choke kind of works or kills the engine. Guessing it is unrelated to yours though.

So does mine from new, I thought it was normal. I only use full choke for maybe 5 seconds or it will die from over richness, then half choke for 2-3 minutes. (Only if it's cold, otherwise no choke at all.)

I do live at 6000, so it's somewhat richer here. I never considered it a problem.
