Addictions plague our world and I would venture to say that all of us have some type of addiction (e.g., alcohol, cocaine, nicotine) or engages in an activity (e.g., gambling, sex, porn, shopping) No one starts out saying I'm going to get addicted today. In most cases it just creeps in but in the case of these pain killers it's over the top. Christy is right if it can happen to his friend it can happen to just about anyone. I grew up in an area of Baltimore where I seen the effects of heron. My friend in the 6th grade died from a heron overdose and that seriously opened my eyes. I knew better then to ever touch that stuff but when a doctor prescribes a drug that blind sides a person it's criminal.

I appreciate the discussion but I take offense to the pretense. Heroin is not a prescription drug "YOU never said it was". I have been prescribed STRONG painkillers for a fractured disk in my back due to a parachuting accident. In MY case I was given a very detailed explanation of the results of over medicating and the potential for addiction if I stayed on them too long. I took one and hated the way it made me feel. Flushed the rest down the toilet. I was also on a morphine drip while only 9 years old "I was hit by a car" and I still remember how I felt when the doctors started weaning me off of that junk! Now if doctors are NOT explaining the repercussions of meds that they are prescribing then that is a different topic. Full disclosure I did not watch the video you linked to but I did watch the one posted over on Fox news.

Well, to be fair, TOM.......that is not what Rick is talking about. You bring up Heroin....but Rick is talking about Heron's and the damage a Heron can do to a person, place or thing, as it flies over, maybe poops on the unsuspecting victim walking peacefully down the sidewalk, or near a marsh. Heron's can also be intimidating, showing off by standing around on one leg, and all the while doing it in the water....of all places.

And.....and...don't be fooled by the Blue Heron and Pink Flamingo thing they have going on. That does not indicate that all Blue Heron's are males, and that all Pink Flamingos are females.
Just their way of deceiving us...once again.

Here....are picture of those addicting Herons:

Why bring up those apples again ? This was about Heron's versus Heroin...........not about apples, or any other low hanging fruits.

Stay on course, Tom. You are easily distracted. :booty:

See, distracted again. Although, you do bring up a close family member to one of the subject items.

Black Kettle....no. But Pot.....yeah, that is in a serious relationship with Heroin, and they were both out late last night, together....in someone's body.

But we could use the Black Kettle, and if we can catch a Heron, we could put the Heron in the Black Kettle, and make Heron soup.
Insufferable!

Seeings as we are already off the tracks and far out to sea, you can hunt Sand Hill Crane in Wisconsin. They say it tastes like a fine beef roast. I would guess they're not much different than a heron.

Well excuse me for my spelling mistake :p I spelled it like they say it in the inner cities. "Here-on" (when you take Heroin for the first time you are addicted from "here-on"). Your Ebonics lesson for today. :D

Don't sweat it. The smart, good looking, hopelessly charismatic people knew what you were talking about.

Ya government's too big until it fits the cause of your needs. Now go back to the kiddy pool Mr. Christy, maybe you can play with the big boys again later.
