My Clarke tank gas cap broke the other day so I bought the tusk aluminum replacement. The old cap would let a little fuel flow out through the threads and run down the tank when it was pretty full, but I just figured it was the old crappy cap. Well the new tusk one does it worse. Is there any type of material I can use as a home made gasket to stop the flow that the gas won't eat through?

I have the Tusk cap also and thought it was a leaker - you just gotta really tighten it down - last 1/4 turn with both hands. over time it is not so difficult to get this tight and it does not leak. The gasket must get softer with use.
BE CAREFUL when putting the Tusk cap on. It is easy to start "mis threading" the cap and the aluminum will shred the plastic tank. I started to do this but caught it before I ruined the tank threads. Now I am super careful that the cap is in proper alignment before starting to torque it down.

It does I went and looked. Guess I just didn't notice it! I cranked it down all the way and it hasn't leaked yet.... though I didn't fill the tank back up all the way
