Found these two a few miles north of town, sitting back in a pasture....any of you motorheads have a clue as to what time frame and what model they are? But appear to be Meat Wagons, one has the top lights the other and extended rear end....guessing late 1940s but have not matched up the grills with anything I know...guess I could stop and ask the owner, but this is more fun...:laughing11:

A Little Update....at least we are thinking we are getting close to IDing both of these vehicles.

After posting these, I headed off to Sidney, Ohio, to work a Basketball Game...meanwhile Montezuma saw the posts, both here and on Facebook...and did his own research. He came up with the vehicle on our left being a 1948 Packard Delivery Van and the Ambulance on the Right being indeed a Packard Henny, but from 1950...he says the grills tell the story. We meet our teammates later this evening for a Dartball Match and it turns out one of our guys knows the owner and tells us that the 1950 Ambulance is the original one from the Historic Eldora Speedway, a few miles south of us at Rossford, Ohio. This famous Dirt Track was owed for Decades by the late Earl Baltes...and he sold it to NASCAR legend Tony Steward. Both Vehicles are for sale, but it will cost you a arm and plenty of leg....lol

Anyway I plan on stopping by and getting some info and more photos of these great finds... :)

You old hippy you... :p
I used to have a 53 Packard ambulance with body by Henny. I loaded my canoe on top and motorcycle inside and mattress inside to make it a camper and followed the wagon trail west from Illinois to Oregon back in 71.

I remember those days in the mid 50s...the Old man and his brother {My Uncle} owned a Gulf then it became a Phillips 66 and finally an ESSO station in South Venice, Florida...Gas wars in the mid 1950s would drive the price down to 16.9 cents a gallon...so nobody really cared if these beauties got 5 or 6 MPG:

On a similar topic; does anyone know what Nicole's car from The Man in the High Castle is?

The door slides forward instead of hinging outward.

The show takes place in 62, so theoretically it could be as late as that, but it appears to be early 50s I think.
