I managed to put a Turner Adjust-on-the-Fly clutch lever ($30) on my TW. It has a Honda-like ratio, which means it pulls the cable more than the stock Yamaha lever, thus separating the clutch plates more for a smoother shift. I had the bike shifting ok with the stock lever, but now it shifts as smooth as a Honda (well almost). I'm sure any Honda style lever would give similar results, or you could use one of the high dollar motocross style clutch levers if money is no object. I fabricated a mirror mount because the Turner lever doesn't have one built in.
