Hi all,

I've got a TW125. Think I have a problem with the clutch..

When pulling away everything is fine and it engages in gear etc. However, sometimes when i accelerate a little harder the bike feels like the clutch has started to slip, as the revs go up and I'm not moving much faster. Still accelerating but not as much as if it was full engaged obviously.

Quite obviously the issue is probably that I need new clutch plates? I'm not overly sure. Unless there is another problem

I understand that it has a wet clutch system so when i did the oil change I made sure to use the correct motorbike oil without additives to prevent any unnecessary slip.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Tom

I've got a new clutch cable just need to fit it.

I'm starting to think it could just be the cable as my cable is at the end of its adjustment really. Is that possible to cause the slipping?

Sorry if it's stupid questions. I'm used to working on cars and not bikes!

You just need Heavy duty clutch springs , which are not a problem to replace and do not increase the lever pull much

Thanks for the help guys, I did find the problem in the end.

It was the clutch cable. I changed over to the new one, easy 5 min job and no clutch slippage now. Bike also rides 100x better. Happy days!
