Clutch Spring?

1151 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  retmotor
So, since I got my TW200, I have been wondering what is wrong with the clutch lever (or me). I had to almost completely let out the clutch to get it to catch in first gear, which made taking off from a stop kinda weird.

Then I saw this:

Went out to my bike, and sure enough, that was the problem! Now I can split outta 1st like I am supposed to!

BUT, is this something that just happens from time to time or should I replace the spring?

Thanks - Bart

Funny. I checked my clutch spring a couple of times, but I think I had over 600 miles on it when I finally found the the cable was never seated in the arm. It was just kind of sitting there on the edge. How it didn't fall off I have no idea. Dealers... (sigh)
