Well, I'm taking my 94 TW to Colorado for the 1st time next Saturday. My son and I have been meeting some guys from the CT90 forum for the last two years out there, this time I will be taking my TW as well as 2 CTs. Don't know what to expect, not re jetting or anything like that. We are going to go to Lake City and camping on Lake San Cristobal. Lake City is about 8400' and we will be getting to about 13000' over several passes. Will be riding the alpine loop and doing some in and out trails, been there before, it is really a beautiful area. I will post some pictures when I get back if I can figure out how to do it.

Stock jetting will be fine at those altitudes, though at 13,000, you might want to pull tape off holes drilled in the air filter cover to lean it out a bit.

Wow that all sounds great I have done both the Alpine loop and the White Rim trail. They are both so different and a blast to do. But before you do the White Rim trail check with the rangers because last month part of the trail was closed! But I hope it is opened I myself can’t wait to ride it again it is so beautiful and next time instead of doing it in one day we are taking our camping gear and staying on the trail in one of the camp grounds for the night. Have fun.

BUSTED.................I really hate to post this, but we did not make it to Colorado. The truck's engine shot craps about 20 miles east of Colby Kansas, luckily it was covered by the warranty. So several thousand dollars later we headed back to Missouri in a new truck. I guess that I have been lucky, I have traveled for thousands of miles over many years and have never had a problem like this. Hope to head back next year, really love that state.

ride safe,

Sorry for your travel woes. Sucks you made it nearly to Colorado before you broke down. Kansas is such a long freakin' drive! I prefer to do the I-70 route overnight so I don't get reminded that there is NOTHING to see!

I just got back from there this weekend and will do a ride report once I get a chance to upload pics and videos. The engineer pass/cinnamon pass loop was beautiful! My 98 was pretty good below 9-10,000ft but above that it stuttered pretty bad but never fouled a plug the whole week. I definitely think the air box holes would help.
