I am not 100% positive that I am going to sell my TW, but I am 95% sure.

2001, Great condition, 1,300 miles.

I have done some cheap mods, 2" taller FLY Racing bars, short stalk blinkers, custom fabricated headlight guard and wider pegs (done by me).

My son is out riding me on his XR100, so the reason I am considering selling is to get into a little bigger bike.

Don't let my SoCal location deter you, I have a good friend that does cross country vehicle transport and will haul/deliver the bike for cheap.

The bike is pretty dirty in these pictures, as these are not the ones that I have taken for a real Sale Ad.

I am thinking starting out at $2,400.00, is that too much to ask?

I see low mileage bikes in my area for around $2500-$3000.

Sometimes as low as $1800, but I wont sell if I have to go that low.

Thanks.

If I wanted to keep up with my son I would be riding an XR. I prefer to be closer to the ground so I won't get shortlegged. The TW puts me down where I like to ride and I am not trying to keep up with anyone.

$2400 seems like a very reasonable price for this I think you could fetch a bit more (like $2600 - $2700) as Socal TW prices are through the roof lately

Paid $1600 for mine in Arkansas 3000 miles Really was looking for A XL250 but the price was right and I am not getting younger ..Should put plates on my other dirt bikes but have other things that need done first . Tw is way down on the list but it is ready to go when I am ready to go.

You might find a Trade . Everybody Happy

:) yea the bikes the reason the kid can out ride you;).
Exactly!! I'm slow and old, he'll always outride me no matter what I'm riding.

I am actually looking for an XR400, done some research and seems like the right bike for me. If I was to go cruise alone and explore, the TW would remain the perfect bike.

I was afraid to ask that much, because if I decide to sell, I want it to go fairly quick before I change my mind.

I have a tentative trade going on an XR400, but he wants my bike and $700, I am not thinking that an XR is worth that kind of money

I think $2400 is a fair price. It's a little old, but evidently in very nice condition, probably original everything including tires. Did you ride the XR400? They are higher off the ground and a little more difficult to ride in rough terrain.

XR 400 , Got it street legal ? It would be worth it to me if the condition is right Apples for Apples
I do like the 400s long travel suspension and the HP does not hurt . Course I have a XR600 if I would get off my lazy ass and finish it up .

No, have not ridden the XR. It's been a lot of years since I've ridden a bigger bike like the XR.
I did race motocross when I was a kid, 80's and 125's, and I find myself reverting to the younger days and hammering through the gears on the TW.

The clutch is slipping a little, which I'm going to fix, but my fear is beating the crap out of the TW to the point where it loses value.

Yes street legal. I won't bother with a non-plated bike. This purchase would also be for a bike to ride around town.

Thanks for all the help with this guys.

As for now, it looks like I'm keeping the TW, I can't bear to get rid of it.

I think I found an XR400 to pick up this weekend without having to sell the TW.
