This is the last weekend my son will be home, back to South Korea tomorrow. He thought it would be a good idea to ride around all the Fingerlakes. The 11 Finger Lakes, from east to west, are: Otisco Lake,Skaneateles Lake,Owasco Lake,Cayuga Lake, Seneca Lake,Keuka Lake,Canandaigua Lake,Honeoye Lake,Canadice Lake,Hemlock Lake,Conesus Lake. Do a few every time he's home on leave. Great bonding time, but he wants to do them all on the TW's! The bigger lakes are almost 100 miles around plus the miles to get to them. My TW's have the mud shredding 244's on the front, not exactly a touring tire, stock gearing, and stock seats. Great for a little pavement and a lot of off-roading, not the other way around. Oh well, could spend some money for more streetable tires, better seats, over the road gearing....nah, we'll ride them as is. So out to Otisco and Skaneateles Lakes we go. 109.7 miles total from the house. Speeds on the open highway not much over 45 mph. When cars got behind us, we would pull over and let them by. On a side note, I normally get about 75 miles before going on reserve. Pulled in the driveway with 109.7 on the trip meter and still haven't hit reserve. Wondering if the petcock is malfunctioning or my gas mileage was really that good. Haven't refilled the tank yet to check the mileage but am anxious to do so.

First 2 pictures are of Skaneateles Lake, north end.

Crazy not to do it. You only go around once and tires are cheap. :)
I'm just happy he wants to spend time with me! Like most fathers and sons, we've had our ups and downs. This is definitely an "up"! He's matured a lot and I've mellowed alot. If he wants us to ride all 50 states together on a TW, I'll do it.

You tell that fine lookin' son there is a crazy Texan who loves him and has great respect, too!
Then give him a bear hug until he yells.
What branch of service?
You are a good Dad!

Thanks for the comments. He is in the Army, keeps going back and forth between 20 yrs. in or getting out when his term is over, wants to do more riding. I encourage to look at the big picture, career, job security, etc.
