Went out for an evening ride with Georgie, and began to notice a theme, dead things. So, I decided to whip out the camera and photo document "dead things".

Admiral you crack me up. A tour of dead things - what ever next.

American badgers look different to British badgers (aka brocks) and in all my travels I have never seen a dead toilet in the wild before
.

Looking forward to the next tour of Idaho.

Didn't actually intend to make my evening ride into any kind of ride report, but seeing all the broken/discarded and dead things triggered my twisted inner humor, and I just had to share it. My wife tells me I laugh at my own jokes too much, but hey, what am I gonna do? The toilet was the kicker!

Only thing I intended to do on my ride was some more camera/video testing, but since I had taken the picture's, thought I would include the video also. Although I hadn't ridden in this area before, it is close, and very, very treeless indeed. It's really a desert environement, but with irrigation, lots of farms. I prefer the tree's, but there is a beauty in the desert, and riding is riding after all.

Glad you all enjoyed.

I think it was/is really neat. I have found myself somewhat saddened by comming across a 'dead' TV out in the middle of know-where. As well, upon marking my trail with surveyors paint, I created a "dead" spider. Here it was just marching along in a spot that I decided to put an "X" to say, I was here. Me 1, spider 0.

As odd as it may seem to some, I think it would make a very interesting ongoing thread. Just my opinion. Thanks Admiral. Gerry

what are you using for a camera mount? ive been pondering the thought of doing some filming while riding.

Hello mr zannini,

Below is essentially the mount I made from plastic pvc pipe and pvc adapters. I've made some modifications that differ from the photo.

Change 1: I moved the mount from the crossbar to the main handlebar below the cross bar.

Change 2: I used a different thicker piece of foam for buffer material to help reduce the "buzz" that showed up video. This has helped except at very high rpm's, which I'm satisfied with.

Change 3: I changed to a longer piece of gray pvc pipe to extend the height to clear the instrument and headlight cowling.

Originally my height was still to short and glare from the sun onto the cowling distorted the color on the video, so I extended it again. When I get home tonight I will take another photo of what my actual mount looks like now, but this photo is pretty close.

I got the idea from a youtube video I saw on DIY handlebar mounts.

Hope this helps.

YES, someone finally mentioned the beer fridge!
But the fridge is also why I don't get alot done either
.

uktw125, I forgot about the "space taker upper". I don't think NASA nor MotoGP types would approve of my adaption or terminology. But I like to have some fun with photo's and wordsmithing sometimes. giggle.

As of this morning, my cheap camera mount setup. I threw a camera on there to help with the visuals. One day I might purchase a more professional camera designed for action video, but till then I'm satisfied with the "action Kodak" setup. Met a rider last week during my Fenced Twigs and Placerville ride and he said I had a nice camera mount. I think he meant it in a sarcastic way...he was riding a KTM 990 Adventure! I do believe he was looking down on the TW200, farmboy, and Georgie combination. I "waved" to him and smiled when I rode away.
