Got back to the arctic today - my son has been riding my TW this summer - temperature today was +1C - pulled out choke but short running periods and low temps sabotaged the battery and it was a no start - drat

Will go back to his place tomorrow and drop a charger on the battery for a couple of hours - that will do the trick I am sure

Battery was new 2 years ago - but sitting for months on end is not good for it - I brought a solar charger back wtih me this trip and I think I will set it up for the coming winter

Come on tomorrow! I want to ride.

That solor charger won't do didly squat when daytime is a glow on the southern horizon.

The solar chargers I use on my cages have too much output for a TW battery, but with your low hours of sunshine and even lower angle of sunlight you mat be able to nurse a battery along in the winter.

A warmer day today - sun warmed up the engine - gotta love that black coloring scheme - pulled on the choke crossed my fingers and varoom - away she went - rode it aabout 10 kms to gett a bit more charge into the battery.

Those engines are pretty cold blooded for starting in cold weather.
