Drilling the bottom triple for a fender

So would it be wrong to drill two 1/4" 20 holes in the bottom triple to mount a supermoto fender? Think it'd weaken it?

Yes. Harley hardware is always wrong on a Japanese bike. Use metric.
Tah! True. Me likey metric stuff too. Buuuut, I only have a 1/4-20 tap. But seriously, how do you feel about drilling it?

S'ok?
I think it would be fine. If you're worried about it, you could use u-bolts to attach the fender.
Oooh I like that idea... I'm going out to the shop. Talk to you guys in a few. I'm going to go stare at my options.
Well guys, I decided to drill and tap. Came out perfect. Looks so clean. I'll try to put some pics up when I'm not on my phone if anyones interested.

Thanks!

John
You know, it's not really fair. Harleys drop parts all by themselves, you ought not be stealing their hardware.

Don't be surprised if those Harley parts fall off. It's a genetic defect.
