Ive gone through the planing stages of making a dirtster twice now :) If you start with a solid mount (pre 04) and take off all the unecessaries you can get them down to the low 400s in weight. There are several dirt bike front ends that bolt right up but your pretty much stuck with a dual shock rear. You can get some good travel out of them though with a little extension and long shocks. Then of course you have that bullet proof evo engine that wont let you down not to mention the 40 pounds of torque youll have right off idle :)

I still may do it :)

Yeah he started selling conversion kits, they were so damm expensive he no longer sells them :)

Whether it was practical or not, I do love the engine sound. I dream my TW sounds like a Sportster sometimes.:D
Remove the head pipe, turn the fuel petcock ALMOST completely off, just keep hitting the starter button. Voila!
