Easy riding with the Wild Bunch

Got an invite Monday to take a local ride with some big bike boys. They said it was going to be an easy ride. Called up a friend and yesterday the 4 of us met at the staging area about 40 minutes away.
My friend, Danny, and the other two are long time riders and racers of big bikes.
Needless to say, when they say "easy", they mean they are not going to go all out full throttle the whole run. Now I KNOW after the ride.
We did a 54 mile loop in an area that is familiar from other rides. Took many new connections and trails that proved to be quite challenging and beautiful.
The weather was perfect as were the trail conditions. Very little dust and no mud to speak of.
Everywhere was green with a sprinkling of flowers here and there.
Some very steep climbs with fun baby heads spread around that constantly tried to throw us to the ground.
Later in the ride, we came across a small group of wild horses. Got off the bike and walked up a smal hill to see what they would do. They were curious and trotted over to me. Kept getting closer and closer. Maybe 30 feet was as close as they would come. What a treat.
We slowly went to the rise where we saw them and just below was a massive heard of wild horses. Have never seen this many all gathered up. They slowly moved on after seeing us coming down the trail that headed towards them.
Word of Warning, be Very careful accepting to go for a ride with these high performance bike boys. Their slow day easy rides are something to reckon with.
Overall, a very fun day with great riders and a good time.
Did see one slitherer on the road. Fortunately just a gopher snake.

Southwest Idaho. Lots of open desert country.

54 mile run yesterday plus 110 mile run 2 weeks ago and never saw anyone.
The 165 mile Jarbidge run last week only saw 2 graders, couple of ranch trucks, and a couple of vehicles near Jarbidge.
No sxs or bikes in 330 miles.

Great write up and tremendous photos. These are the "money" posts, for sure.

You see adventures like this and you wonder why anyone would ever ride at a designated OHV riding area.

They never show up in the photos. Must have some kind of magic.

Seek, and you shall find.

Except Sasquatch. You won't find Sasquatch.

You'll have better luck finding that pot of gold under the rainbow, than finding Sasquatch.

You should have been able to keep up with them fast riders with your recently souped up TW Hemi engine. 😅
On foot I know those horses 🐎 are faster than you. Gotta chum them in with apples like old man w/too many?? does! 😀

Great ride!
(Note how the Skinny Tires take a position of subservience behind the Mighty T-Dubs!!)

That always struck as a smart mod. I learned about it after I put the "normal" Clarke tank on. To get extra range I have the Rotopax attachment for the Manrack. Does the XT tank when full make the bike top-heavy or unbalanced as my Clarke TW 200 tank gives me no issues with my Wolfman small enduro bag on it.

I have the Clarke XT tank as well and I notice no difference between a full or empty tank.

Similarly pleased with 4 gallon tank which I thought originally would cause weight and balance issues. Not a problem. Little ride Friday didn’t challenge the ~300 mile range… hard part is remembering to check fuel level now and then.

The opaque one comes with a free gas guage.

I just wait until all my riding buddies are pushing theirs. A TW with 4 gallons on board is likely to be the last bike running.
