Hi guys,I'm new here and in need of any kind of advise.just got this Tw from a friend of mine last week and was surprised that the cap for refilling the oil had a tubing with its end looking like a muffler.it does give out a fair amount of air just like the exhaust.I was told that it acts as a pressure relief to maintain the engine temperature or something like that.it looks cool though but will take it out if its doing any damage to the engine.another concern is,will I lose any kind of compression?

It looks like a oil catch can, it acts the same way as pvc valve/breather. Mainly it is just for looks, alot of people do this to scooters ie: Honda Ruckus (do a search if you want). I would just buy a different oil cap like I did, check "Rocky TW'S custom build". I like your header pipe looks to be ttr 225. Congrats on your new toy.

I have used uni filters in the past to replace the crank case breather hose. You can hear the internal of the engine much more distinctly doing this. I do have to say that while it really is pretty useless it does look kinda trick.

Does having a relief on the oil cap gain you anything over using the stock breather tube from the crank case to the airbox? I'm just curious.

Well if u ask me,im not too sure myself.maybe someone could help us?pinned?im just concern now if I'm losing any kind of compression from the engine by using this coz there's a fair amount of air that's coming out..

Every time your piston goes down air is expelled, and time it goes back up aa certain amount will be drawn in.



Your little gizmo won't neccesarily cause any problems as long as you never plan to cross water, but if you still have a stock airbox it is a pointless accessory and not nearly as smart or functional the stock vent routed to the airbox. I'd get rid of it and reconnect the vent to the airbox.

I just got a clear high pressure hose connected it to the crank shaft vent aka blow by ,routed it under the seat and all the way to the license plate and the end I put a collar on and a small K&N breather filter.
