After draining and replacing the oil and buttoning everything up I start the engine and sloooowly loosen the bolt right around the corner from the spark plug until oil sips out, when it does, snug the bolt back down. Am I correct? Just making sure I'm doing it right. Thank you

I usually loosen it a hair before starting but that's the idea. If after a few seconds you see no oil, try backing it out a bit more. If you were to accidentally remove it, shut the engine off so you don't lose a ton. Can't imagine you'd do that though.

Tuck a half sheet of paper towel under the bolt, back out three turns and wait. It may take as much as a minute. If it still doesn't show some oil, back out another turn.
