Not sure whats been up with me. Over the last year or so it seems harder to find the conditions enticing enough to gear-up and go for a ride. Have been staying pretty busy doing stuff around the house and though none of it is generally of an urgent nature, it seems to bring me more satisfaction.

This slide show involves 'snap shots' from a 33 minute video I took last Tuesday. It was a very nice day, clear with temperatures in the low 80's. I headed out around noon as I had to make sure all my chores were done. Seems I am one of those lucky folks that has an outdoor wonderland just a couple of miles from home. For a few of you 'old timers' some of these scenes will look familiar. Nope, I did not resurrect old photos, I really went on a ride this week and these are new shots of a route that I have traveled often.

About half way trough the adventure the battery on my camera was low enough that it would not continue on video mode. The second half of the ride (35miles) was a lot greener, but I had to stop to get a shot.

Since many of our logging roads are now gated, I did not come across but one other adventurer, a fellow driving a service truck for the logging company. I was stopped just short of a bridge taking a picture of the creek(s) below. Guess the running water reminded me that I needed to pee. Not wanting to degrade the water quality I decided to piss in the middle of the road as there still was a bit of snow run-off on either side. Being an older guy, this process seems to take a bit more time, conditions need to be 'just rite'. Well, that moment finally came, as did the stealthy service truck. As many of you seasoned gentlemen know, the beginning and ending of this process is a bit more involved, and it seems, I was short on time. My main concern was making sure nothing got caught in the zipper. Fortunately my riding pants are nylon and water repellent. The moment was rather awkward, but once everything was in place I just waved up my arms to indicate the fellow could pass. He gave me a nod and a smile as to suggest that I may have provided him with a story he could share with his co-workers over a beer after work.

Once I got home around 4, I was really worn out. Guess any first of the season activity can leave you feeling that way. Appreciate all the inspiration many of you provided, so I will offer up some shots of my adventure. Gerry

Oh, yeah. Isn't that the way? Don't see anyone for hours and just as you get things un=limbered to answer the call someone comes along!!! But that's OK, no harm, no foul. I'm glad you got out for a ride, and had an enjoyable time Thanks also for sharing the pictures, you really do live in paradise! I noticed the plug for an oil cooler, I'll be getting one of those bling bling oil cooler adapters from Lizrdbrth soon. Thanks for taking us along, that was fun!

It was about this time of year, last year, that I got my TW back together after tearing it all down, and got my first "real" ride of the new season. Love the story, and would have to say most of us have been there. Isn't it funny how you can go all day without seeing anyone, then you let your guard down for just a minute, and wala, someone shows up!

Though I have access to great riding area's, I think your backyard riding area has more tree's than mine! Giggle.

Nice riding area, I never get tired of seeing where you or others ride. Thanks for sharing and glad you got out for a ride.

Thanks Guy's, it is always nice to "get out". What is harder to understand is the difficulty that I have in 'getting out'. I so love the outdoors with all the smells and sounds. What seems to get in the way is having to go through a protracted process that moves me from mowing the lawn, to exploring the mountains................ Gerry
