First of all I hope NOT to get flamed for this. I received a recommendation from race tech as to where to start with my fork emulators, I’m just curious because they didn’t mention drilling the damping rods. Has anyone just installed the emulators without drilling out the rods? I have read all the threads I could find on this topic. I just want to get it close the first time. I do have the pro cycle heavy springs to install as well. Any opinions, experiences appreciated.

It doesn't make any sense to NOT drill the damping rods, as the whole idea of the emulators is to replace the small orifices in the damping rods. If you don't drill the damping rods, the emulators won't do anything.

One caveat: In several of the how to threads, the drilling of the damping rods is incorrect. This is the correct explanation of the drilling: http://www.racetech.com/download/InstructPDF/IP FEGV S3301.pdf

See this post, # 4 here: https://www.tw200forum.com/forum/technical-help/57521-race-tech-emulators.html.

It's really not that difficult, other than the disassembly of the forks, which needs a dedicated tool, which there are several ways to construct.
