Hi there! I just picked this up, but at the girlfriend's suggestion after toodling about a little I'm selling it to get something a little taller for me (6'2"), like a DR. I've had it literally less than a week, and have ridden it a few times but not sorted through it super thoroughly.

It's an '87, ~6400 miles, in decent shape. Located in Ellicott City, MD, ~20 minutes west of Baltimore. Runs and rides very well. Street legal and clear title (still waiting for it to get to me from the MVA), HAS MIRRORS NOW. Asking $1150 OBO.

CDI was recently replaced with one of the newer ones (from an '88 I think?), battery is fairly fresh. The tank also had the "cream coating" or whatever on the inside, the permanent-looking rust preventative thing. The seat foam is a little worn underneath, but was recovered shortly before I bought it.

The bad:

-Tank is a little dinged up. "Pressure dents" on each side, and paint flaking off on one side.

-Left side cover has a hole in it, looks like it was from a broken chain maybe.

That's it! I can take more pics if anyone is looking for something specific.

Really? That hole doesn't go into the case, it's just the open part above the front sprocket. I've had that side cover off, and it doesn't affect anything, or create an opening into the trans or stator area. I've been riding it a good bit, and have no problem with shifting or anything.

I was going to put the one from my '88 on, but the internal design is completely different between the engines, and they actually are not swappable.

Yeah I have seen a few like that due to a chain breaking while riding.

LzrdBrth mentioned those cases are not interchangable due to the electrical systems on 1987 bikes. They were the first year and were different than the later years.

I am guessing you have it on craigslist as well? Once you drop it on there. Bikefinds.com or cyclemashup will pick it up and get you more exposure as well.

I've been trying to post it on Craigslist, but for whatever reason it isn't showing up. I see it in my CL account, and it says "active" but won't actually show on the Motorcycle page, and can't be found in a search. Not sure wtf is up with that...

Delete it. I believe its called ghosting and will happen sometimes.

Change the title a little if it happened twice in a row. You cant repost a close match if you take one down within a certain time period.

Also as a reference I cant tell you how many times I have found a bike listed as just Tw200 and not Tw 200..... with the space. It makes a difference, so throw both in the title or listing somewhere.
