Just curious what kind of gas mileage you all are getting (road riding). Thanks.

I get about 65 mpg. I run 20-50 weight oil because I live in a hot climate, I'm sure I would get better mileage if I went to a lighter weight oil. I like to twist the grip, too.

Wound out (60) on the road with a 13/50, I get 55 to 60 mpg. That's low road gearing. In the dirt with same, I get 65-70. Stock gearing (14/50), should get 65-70 mpg on the road in flat terrain at 60mph with no wind or bags.

The two times I've really tried to accurately judge mileage, I've calculated around mid 80's with a combination of off road (30 mpg or so) and road (full bore) with and without head winds. I'm sure under ideal conditions and a careful throttle, you could squeeze 100 mpg out of the beast (and there are reports here of that being done). Anyway you look at it, its better than your Grand Cherokee's 20 mpg. Ride on. Tom

Life time on mine and I got it used with about 400 miles, I get 79.5.

Very seldom ride over 45, as I don't see a l ot of highway, mostly in town, gravel roads on desert flat trails.

I get even better when I remember to shut the gas off.

When I've actually checked, my mileage varies a lot, but not as high as reported here.

Couple times on slow logging road rides (15-45 mph), 70-75 mpg.

Mainly highway (50-65 mph): 55-60 mpg.

This winter I added a rear dual sprocket setup, adding a 55t to the stock 50t. On some recent trail rides with the 55t in play, my mileage dropped (i.e. I wasn't able to go as far on a tank of fuel as before), but I wasn't able to check the exact mpg. Granted I was in some up and down mountains, but I didn't think it would drop as far as it did.

For a test, I've put it back on the 50t and gonna see if the mileage improves. Engine runs great, though I did change from the standard spark plug to an iridium plug. If my mileage doesn't improve using the 50t sprocket, I'm gonna go back to a standard spark plug too see if this improves mileage.

My mileage on my 2010 is pretty identical to yours with a 13/50, although down in Phoenix when I went on a ride with Xdac I hit reserve at 75 miles from a really full tank. That involved 40 miles on the freeway at WOT, 60-65 mph. I haven't even tried to figure mileage with the 13/55, I'll bet it's only 50/55 in the dirt. I've had an Iridium plug in since new, I can't figure out why that would affect mileage.

This is pretty much inline with the numbers in this old thread.

i have stock 14/50 and i got somewhere around 80 when we rode the sheet iron 150, which jives with what i seem to get around town. i don't nurse it, but i'm not WOT all day either.

I agree, engine is running just fine as far as I can tell, but if my mileage doesn't increase, I'll put the standard plug in as an expirment. Otherwise I may have just developed a bad case of throttleitis.

What kind of mileage do you start worrying about running too lean? With anything carbureted, we'll all end up reporting back pretty random gas mileage figures. But if you're getting 90+ mpg is it time to check your jetting to make sure you're not cooking anything up top? Or is that A-OK?

Or you have good riding habits. I live at 2200' and most of my riding is done at 4 to 6000'. I don't grab large handfuls of throttle and consistently get 85 to 90 mpg with as high as 103. My plug's color is just fine. Higher altitude and temperatures equals higher density altitude with less oxygen. Properly jetted you use less fuel. That's the main reason why fuel injection improves fuel mileage.
