Anyone have any interest in attempting a semi-major assemblage of TW's next month? Ronnydog and I have been discussing this for awhile and we're trying to plan a weekend that will be mutually inclusive to the most members, in a location that somewhat splits the driving distance evenly for the SoCal and Az. crowds.



Maybe somewhere near the border. Quartzite/Blythe/Yuma triangle? Elsewhere?



Busy month for some. Weekend of the 10th. not real bueno for us. Wide open other'n that.

December is a tough month because of the holidays. Mid January through Feb might be better.

How many SoCal folks would be interested in a parking lot poser session/breakfast at Hell's Kitchen follwed by a short day ride in MrDNA's back yard on Saturday, Dec. 10?

I will keep a watch on when and where you ride, but presidents weekend, we go to a pyro convention in Havasu.

Turtlefest anytime after December sounds fantastic! Presidents day works because of the long weekend, but we're flexible.



Also, I'm good for December 10th at Hell's. Unless it's wet. I don't do Ortega Hwy when it's wet. I'm actually down for Hells Kitchen or Cooks Corner almost any weekend someone is in town and gives me a few days notice to clear it with the boss and open up some time.



As for riding some local trails from Hell's in December, it will depend on the weather between now and then. The main ridge trail (North Main) will be shut down with today's rain I'll bet. That would close out Ortega Hwy to Saddleback peak if they don't reopen it. That's the ride you really want to take if you are coming down here. South Main Divide stayed open all last winter, so that would leave us with Ortega Hwy to Wildomar/Temecula on South Main and some of the old truck trails, which is not nearly as interesting a final destination, but it is some dirt.

It's a weird place. A mountain range, thickly surrounded by city.

January looks good for me. I'm not familiar with the locations but willing to make the drive.

Time to start getting some idea of who's coming and what time we're meeting.



The 5-day forecast calls for no rain before and clear skies on the 10th, so we can expect all the local trails to be open.



Totally down for some breakfast at Hell's and a ride into the local hills. Just need to know when to show up.



If you don't know where Hells Kitchen is, it's off CA 74 (Ortega Hwy), more on the Lake Elsinore side of the Mountains.



Would be nice to see a few of you folks make it up there.

Must be my breath.



We usually ride there, but it was 24 degrees up here this morning and it's 80 miles to Hell's from here, so we're gunna wimp out and haul our bikes. Do you know of a good unloading spot?

Don't feel bad, I'm only 31 miles away, and I may throw the bike in the van too if you want to meet early for some breakfast. It's cold at 2600 ft. at 8:00am too. If you Google earth Ortega Hwy, the North/South main divide road intersection is just shy of a mile East of Hells kitchen. If you turn onto south Main divide, there is a parking/picnic area right there that I usually unload at. If you have a forest service Adventure Pass, bring it. They are dicks about it up here. I've got 2, so I'll bring the extra in case.

OK, it must be my breath. I went today!

Much more technical ride going from Ortega Hwy to Santiago Peak then getting there from the Silverado Canyon side. I actually dropped the bike at one point going through a rock field today. No harm, no foul, and those modified D2Moto foot pegs held up just fine.



I didn't shoot any video and I only took a few shots when I was stopped along the way, so here's what I got.

There's a fairly substantial memorial to California's Wildland fire fighters about a mile from Hells Kitchen

Where ever you go, will I be able to get a 40' DP RV there or should I bring my tent...

Good evening. I just joined today after about two weeks of browsing and getting ideas for mods. I have had my 05 since mid 06, haven't made any mods as yet, but am just now starting to go out a little more than just off roading with kids and friends. I would love to join the ride. Is it going to be an over night type of gig or just a one day ride? I am in the Victorville area. Will this require hauling to the starting point or just ride to it? Either way is good. Just curious.
