I don't have one but have seen many videos on Youtube that were taken with them. If they were cheaper I would probably buy one.

I went out on a charter a couple weeks ago and the captain had one and loved it. But I never saw any footage from it....

I've heard a ton of good things about them. AFAIK, the HD Hero 960 is only about $180 or so, you give up on frame rate at 720p (30 fps max compared to 60), lose a tiny bit of resolution at the top (960p vs. 1080p), and I don't think it has the option for an expandable battery/screen....but it's about $120 less than the regular Hero. You can always buy additional mounts that aren't included too.

Just another option if you're looking to save some cash.

I run the GoPro HD unit and it works great. I usually run with the waterproof battery cover installed to keep the dust out of the camera but you also loose a little sound quality with that back. I end up recording in the 960 mode most of the time since it give you the widest angle, the fish eye look is worth capturing the bars etc in the picture.

Here's a couple vids shot from my GoPro. I "downgrade" them to 720P in my editing software to let them upload to youtube quicker. Just click on 720P to watch them in the best clarity.

^^^^ Great videos! That trail looked pretty tough, and I never thought of being able to mount a GoPro to an RC plane....very cool.

And yeah, 720p looks to be enough resolution for pretty much anything.
