Since I love seeing what everyone else does to their bikes, I thought it was only right to show what I've done to mine since I bought it last month. Its a 91 with 7000 miles.

Things I replaced: spokes, tires, bearings (wheels & steering), brakes, upper fork tubes, fork seals, bars, grips, levers, chain, and sprockets.

Everything else is just re-painted.

Before:

I really need a garage

Bent forks:

4 missing spokes in a row:

Not finished but good enough to test ride today:

Cosmetics and accessories are sure to come, but for now I'm just happy its rideable.

Also a huge thanks to this forum. I wouldn't have even attempted this without the tutorials on here.

Looks good. Nice work. Now just get it a little dirty, and it will match the dog! TIM

Wow jeepndave, looks like you've put in a lot of hard restoration work.

It had to be a great feeling to fire her up and take her out for a spin after all of that, enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Thanks. I didn't really plan on doing this much work on it, I just didn't know what to look for when I bought it. I can say it was a lot more enjoyable than working on a car or truck. I was pretty surprised that everything worked perfect the first time out, I just had to adjust the cables a little.

The tire is the shinko 241 trials. I only have one ride on it and all I can say is its worlds better than a dry rotted, unevenly worn stock tire.
