i got my tw 200 working today after it had sat for two years. I degunked the carb and cleaned out the tank and changed the oil. Ok so its a pain to get started and once it is if i let off the throttle it dies plus i feels like it has to run at a higher idle. im thinking its the timing but im not to sure what do you guys think?

Woohoo - Congratulations!

My guess is you still have some carb issues, but I will let those more knowledgeable than me give you some guidance.

It will help to know what year your bike is.

Your carbs probably still dirty. Timing is very easy to check but I dont think that's your problem. Buy a can of carb dip and soak it for about an hour. Use a compressor to blow the junk out of the tiny orifices. Pilot jet seem to be your main culprit.

Just a friendly note, there is no need to post the same thread in more than one section. Hope you get it all sorted out.

that's great!...i agree with these guys...don't worry about the timing...put the carb off and take it apart and give it a really good cleaning with carb cleaner...rebuild it if needed...reassemble...adjust your pilot screw and see how it runs...

to adjust the idle on your bike twist the throttle screw #22 on the fiche below...

check these out...you have the older style carb and these threads have the newer one so they won't match up exactly but for the most part they will be the same...
