Many thanks to Knobby Runner and peruano for their very informative threads on this install.

Little bit of wrinkle going on from the bendy seat, but nothing too bad.

I made these spacers out of a hockey puck.

Not super impressed with the cosmetic quality of the Clarke tank. Besides these kind of pockmarks, there are little patches here and there of other colors of plastic left behind by the mould.

Looking forward to torture-testing this baby in the near future!

Thanks guys!

Couldn't wait to take a test run, so I put in around 5 miles of pavement and dirt alleyways with just a half gallon in the tank- no leaks and nothing busted loose!

Emboldened by those results, I swung by the gas station and topped off to a full 4 gallons, then hit Redington Rd. for around 20 miles of rutted muddy goodness (it snowed yesterday) at between 25-40 mph.

Everything stayed put, so for now I'm tentatively chalking this mod up as a win!

Bike is looking great Don! If I could only convince my Ministry of Finance (wife) that these mods are required for riding. Other than that I'll have to slowly sneek them on. I really like the black and white look.

Cheers

Just remember, this is all for the sake of increased safety! She doesn't want you stranded out in the wilderness does she? And don't forget, doubling your fuel capacity halves the chance that you'll be taken out by a gas station explosion. One teenager texting while filling up and BOOM!

She doesn't need to know about the power tools involved.

DonBenito,Is this a newer plastic XT350 tank or one of the old steel one's? Cost? Thanks

It's a brand new plastic 4 gallon Clarke XT350 tank. Bought it direct from them for $218. You can get scratch and dent ones off of ebay for a little less I believe.
