I haven't ridden since I busted my shoulder. I think we're going riding the mules up in the hills pretty soon. I ain't scared to get back on, but I'll feel like beating a hiker who doesn't keep their dog under control next time...shoulder permitting of course!

Happened last July. Hikers dog came at our mules barking spook'in 'em a bit while we were on the trail. I had a bunch of pain my shoulder after I hit the ground like a sack of potatoes...a large sack.:pHad surgery in November to repair everything and I got mostly healed up just in time for Moab, whew! Most of the old timers around here know I still ride the TW in the winter and it was killing me not being able to ride this past winter. Glad all this is a memory now.

Ouch. I know that hurts. You got to keep your animals under control.

I remember riding my XR down a trail and came upon a herd of horse riders. I rode off the trail and killed the motor but one horse was spooked. I could have gotten a ticket for going off the trail. Guy was cursing his horse, ... cursing me, ....it's a shared trail, ... I was half tempted to fire it back up and just WRAAAAPPP! it.

But I didn't.

Got to keep your animals under control.

We have met a few motorcyclists on the trail. We here them coming so we step off the trail like we did for the hiker. Normally we can see the surprise in their face as they didn't know we were there until the last moment. When they do see us sometimes they will kill their engine like you. We just wave them through as our mules aren't normally spooked by something they can see. One exception is Toby the mule I ride most. If he see's a backpacker with the backpack on he gets pretty rodeo like. We will start a voice conversation with hikers so the animals won't get nervous but they are animals so you never know.

Mrs. Admiral and Georgie on the trail

I rode John Henry this day
