If controls are still a bit tight one can usually create more play by trimming bars for length. The Pro-Tapers should still have index marks every 1/4 inch. Cutting a half inch off each side makes you that much narrower in those tight woods anyways.:D

I've got risers and the high bars and while the cables just reach the bike is now a bit too twitchy. May have to drop it down a little for drivability!

Yeah I found lower handlebars put you in a more aggressive riding position and the bike handles better. I try and find the happy medium where I can stand semi comfortably and still be low enough to have the advantage when sitting. For me it was 19mm zeta risers partnered with atv mid bars.

I put on Rox 2" risers and adjusted them straight up and the stock bars tilted a bit up as well. I had to cut a couple zip ties to get all fluid - standing up is way more doable now
