I think that seat's benefit is more cosmetic than ergonomic. This style seems to be the preferred look for bobber conversions.

Aesthetics are eye of the beholder, but if a comfort improvement is your main goal there are much more cost effective ways for that, from a goofy $20 atv seat pad some people here swear by, Seat Concepts makes a foam/cover kit that you put on your stock seat pan (IMO a little pricey for what it is), and it's really not that to just peel the cover off and do some surgery yourself, cutting/shaving the shape, installing memory foam or gel pads, and then reinstalling the cover. I've also used Spencer's Seat Mods in the past with excellent results, and his fee to rework a stock seat is usually about 1/4 or less what an aftermarket seat costs, and to me gives better results.
