Howdy Folks

I need some help figuring out how to re-install a spring in the headlight assembly....part #10 in the exploded parts diagram link below...

http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/OemParts?aribrand=YAM#/Yamaha/TRAILWAY_-_TW200KC_-_1998/HEADLIGHT/TW200KC_(1998_MOTORCYCLE)/HEADLIGHT_(TW200KC_-_1998)

I was gently pressing on my headlight (fully installed and in the plastic cowl) to scratch off some bugs after a ride and the spring went "PING" and dropped on the ground....I've been fooling around for an hour trying to reinstall it with no luck....maybe some one could be kind enough to take a photo of their spring as it should sit in the headlight assembly? Seems like it might press fit between headlight rim and headlight assembly....? funny shaped little part....

Thanks!

Anybody? Anybody? I know it will be a hassle to pop the headlight cowl, unscrew the lens assembly on either side, and take an up close photo of the dang spring...

If you were anywhere close I'd buy ya a 6pack for your troubles....Western Slope, Colorado? Anybody?

I put everything back together without the spring....lens has noticeable play....will wait for the helpful person...thanks!

You peaked my curiosity so I went out and took mine apart. My piece isn't even there. Sorry I can't be of help.

I did notice that my housing was bent as well as one of the adjustment screws. I just straightened it with a hammer and it went back together easily and what do you know....it properly adjusts now. Only been living with that crooked pointing headlight for a year and a half. Guess I'll need that spring though, it is too loose.

Can't get my camera in there without tearing headlight insulation.

Nice! Thanks!

Kind of just sits there, nothing really holding it in. No wonder mine is gone. I wonder if that falls out and that is what causes the front end "THUNK" everyone talks about. It is probably the headlight banging around.
