Bought a set of cir 1980's 4x6 stone guards.

Removed the plastic (one screw), zip tied it to headlight metal frame (4 zipties), put back on plastic (one screw). total time less than 3 minutes. next step to put a little rubber tubing on base where it rests against headlight to eliminate rattle (none so far) and to provide a tad cushioning. If(Cost x time x difficulty) / results = (happiness of mod) this has to be one of the best ones ive done.

Hey Retro,

I really like that look! Where did you find the stone guards?

I've been trying to find one of these that are the right size. It looks like they have a few on ebay for $16. I am going to check autozone and a few other stores for prices.

How is a stone going to hit your light? And how do you clean the lens?
Who cares if your lens is dirty..as long as you look kewl?

I bought a pair of the chrome ones off ebay. Rattle canned them black.

BTW...the packaging looked really old, so they may not make these anymore.

depends if you ride with others and your not in the front...

same reason for the visor on a off road helmet. it's not all for "sun" protection.

cleaning makes it harder... lets see.... when was the last time i cleaned the bike....

i got mine from an old autoparts guy that business was closed... so my guess is old stock.
