My wife was complaining about the cold last weekend and asked me to put a pigtail to the battery like she has on her Honda so she can use her heated gear. I told her I didn't think the TW (1997) charging system would support her heated gear. She has a jacket liner and gloves. Has anyone used heated gear on a TW? I want her happy.

I ran a 24 watt vest this weekend but i have a newer model and a 35watt headlight and i was nice. I doubt you could get away with it unless you turn off the headlight while using the gear.

You could go full LED with the lighting to reduce the load. But I don't know about the pre '01's.
