I have lots of time on my hands and would like to update Eldavo's Wikipedia TW200 site set-up to serve our community.

The bulk of the best information is here and presented by you folks. Can I 'take' and repost info and do nothing more than provide the screen name of the original poster & forum? Do I need to "quote" or can I give credit and 'restate' the original post to something shorter? How about re-using some-one elses picture (giving credit)?

Should this be ethical, anyone have any personal objections to having something they posted here, copied to Wikipedia (TW200).

Would really appreciate feedback. Gerry

Think what I will do is only gleen from those that say 'it is ok'. Anyone can join Wiki and add, alter or delete anything on the Wiki TW200 site. This leaves you free to ad what YOU want or delete/change anything that is entered (my understanding). http://tw200.wiki-site.com/index.php/Main_Page

My hope as likely Eldavo's would be concentrated TW200 goodness.

I'll see what I can add. Last time I tried I had a hard time figuring out the Wiki thing.

I'm good for outlining year-to-year differences, if that would be of value.

Hey Russ. The nice thing (i think) about the Wiki site is stuff that folks really seem to want to know is less likey to get buried. Here, todays treasures just get covered under the day to day operation of tomorrows. It would be a fulltime job for our Moderator to compile the 'treasures' into stickies.

I was just trying to research some of your contributions. After 18 pages (one year of your posting) the forum (search engine?) suggested this is all we're going to give you. Guess it only goes back one year.

Qwerty seems to have posted some great stuff on the Wiki site, perhaps he will offer some advice. Gerry

Thanks for the generous offers folks, here is another one. If I would like to scan through your history looking for something, the forum only offers up a years worth of information. The Wiki site is broken down into all sorts of categories so all sorts of information can be presented. If something you did, or a picture you posted stands out in your mind, would you be so kind as to send me a link or something real specific that might speed up my search in Google. Today I looked through hundreds of pages trying to find a picture that someone posted showing the three grooves for preloading the real shock. No luck so the rear shock post in the topic "suspension" just has one picture so far.

I suspect most would feel uncomfortable saying 'this is the best of all the great stuff I have posted, so you need to include it'. I would sure like to encourage you to point out stuff that you or someone else did that might help create a really valuable resource. Gerry

Use away. I wonder if anyone would object to simply saying something to the effect of "this information compiled from the combined knowledge of members of tw200forum.com" its for a good cause after all.

I can certainly close sections that I did with that. Today I stumbled upon a good picture of a spring compressor presented by a member of the old forum. No way that I can think of to touch bases with him. I added the picture and gave credit using his old forum name (TWHunt.Fish). Seems unlikely anyone would get really mad, but then there are some great posts that folks put alot of time into presenting and may resent seeing major sections extracted and placed else where, whether they get credit or not. Wiki project is moving along. Finding stuff, snipping excerpts and photos seems like it can get pretty involved. Even after the fact, placement and size seems to change with a mind of its own.

Question; in order to post a picture, it needs to be hosted. I use photobucket so no real problem. My concern is, do I need to keep all these gleaned and resized pictures in my account? I am fearful that if I delete them now from my account, they will as well disappear from the Wiki site. What do you think?

Also, Russ, could you review my snippets of (your) fork oil change that I condensed in "routine maintenance". If you want to make changes, fine. If you would like me to make a few changes send me as E-mail, PM or call (Ronnydog has my number). Gerry

Gerry,

Unless and until Photobucket puts me on a paying basis all my TW-related pics should be accessible.

I ain't real large on organization, but most of the images which have appeared in here should be there.

Got my consent for anything I've posted.

But the pix & files I've posted are off line now.

The server my site was on is going out of business. My domain now points at my ISPs free space.

Gerry, I'd assume the reverse. Anyone who posts here is sharing info and would have no problem being quoted (cited if possible or appropriate) without express forward permission. Lets just suggest if someone does not feel so generous they should let you know and you will avoid their info. Yes, photos disappear from the threads if removed from their hosting sites. Notice how your avatar changes on old posts when you change it for the present posts. I'm pretty sure you can post photos from other folk's accounts but there is no guarantee that they won't delete or rename those photos in the future which would cause the photos to disappear from the thread. You might want to consider making a special album of WIKI cited photos that would ideally remain untouched until we are all pushing tulips or technology makes this medium obsolete. Thanks for the effort. Tom

Thanks Tom, I am kinda moving in that direction when it comes to photos. After looking thru likely hundreds of posts for text and pictures, I have come to TWO conclusions; Jimbo has sold a helluv alot of shields, and Eldavo put alot of work into setting up the Wiki site.

Thanks Eldavo !!!

Jimbo, sell your design to Yamaha and retire !!

Both you guys have made a real positive impact on the TW community.... Thanks....... gerry

Boy I see why software engineers get paid the BIG bucks. I have spent much of the last two days transfering some useful suspension information to the Wiki site. As I wanted to change the heading from simply suspension to a more clear "rear suspension" I decided to delete the heading and redo it, 'WRONG'. By deleteing the heading I (it seemed) lost all of two days work as there was no way to access any of that information because it seems, the heading is the portal to the info, DAMN !!

Bless those Wiki software designers. With a bit of looking, seems there is a page that chronicles all changes so it affords you to kind of go back in time. Kinda like making a fart in church seem like it never happened
