Hi all.

Any hints on installing the rear rubber 'tube' from the airbox to the rear of the carb?

I bought a new one as the old one had suffered shrinkage and wasn't properly covering the rear of the carb.

I haven't removed the airbox, but the carb is out. I had a try this evening to get it in, and I couldn't manage to get it over the second lip. I tried lubing it up with WD40, but still had no success.

Anyone got any hints for me besides HTFU?

Thanks,

Rob.

So you are trying to get it into the air box right? It was easier for me to take the air box out. I had to take off my seat, tank, shock, and rear wheel to get the air box out. Reason for this is because it takes some force to "pop" it in. With the air box out, you can get a better visual of it and make sure the lip is properly seated. If you don't want to try that, boil some water and stick the boot in it for a few minutes. It will get real soft and then you could probably get it in. Its tough, but doable, so take your time and don't get too upset!

Legend Rainman!

Put it in boiling water for a few minutes, went outside and it went in within 10 seconds easy as pie! Not even kidding!

Infinitely easier than taking off the wheel, shock, box etc!

I owe you a beer if you ever come to Aus!

Thanks,

Rob.
