This video was taken the same day as the other one I posted. I thought I would show it so that any other riders that go to Hollister Hills and want to try a black diamond trail and are nervous about it could try this one first. Trail name: Lights Out. Nothing to exciting and no steep drop offs like the Garcia Gulch trail. The path can be a little bumpy at times and the soil can be very soft and dust like in places but no real problem.

Boy it is nice to be able to go there mid-week. Don't think I saw another bike in either video. Given my hiking experience in Tilden and Briones, I'll be inclined to say after the first couple of rains that area will smell so nice. Looks like you are really having fun with that camera. This last video I watched in HD. Really great. Thanks. Gerry

Nice addition to your previous post. Looks like a great place to ride. I haven't seen much in the way of rocks on the trail, and that makes for a nice easy ride (normally:huh: ) .

There are a few advantages (very few) to getting old and time off all the time is one of them. And correct, after some decent rain that will be a different place.

The San Andreas Fault runs through this park. On the other side of the fault line the ground is rocky and sandy and there are a lot of pine trees -- on the side I videoed it is mostly oak trees and I guess it is called adobe like soil. I know it turns to grease after a rain.

Thanks for sharing. Wonder if it is considered black diamond in both directions? I've been down some trails thinking "not too bad" only to have a rude awakening when I decided to ride up the same trail.

Gotta get back to Hollister Hills one of these days.

I think the black diamond trails are only one way.
