I'll pass this on to everyone I know who rides plus those contemplating. Always great to have as much information as possible. Thank-you for posting.

I teach bicycle safety and this pertains pretty closely to the dangers the bicyclist faces and the strategies that both communities need to consider for safety.

Good stuff, we can't be reminded to many times how to be safer when we ride.

Nice to know my flummoxes tend to be more of the "drop" variety rather than a "crash".

My close calls have been because I didn't leave enough room or wasn't paying enough attention.

Also when I leave 2 seconds worth of distance between me and the car in front of me some yahoo tries to squeeze in there.

I know this article was based on street riding but what about dirt.

There are two definitions of "Incidents" for off-pavement riding: Drop, which are crashes which no swearing occurs; and Crashes, which are um crashes which swearing does occur. Fred has been posting a few of his "moments" and I can only detect that they are drops not crashes!:p

You will notice there are only drops in this video until about the 5:20 mark. That is a crash! :D
