Been a member of this forum for awhile. Had my t-dub, suzi, and now a harley... but I really wish I still had my first bike, a 2000 tw200 that I wish I could post a picture of but can't figure out how to post pics. My advice to all you tw owners is to keep the beloved TW, no matter how slow or unpractical it is. Don't try to buy a new bike to replace it. The t-dub can't be replaced as it will never be forgotten. I only put abot 4000 miles on her (bought it 9 years old from an old man with only about 300 miles on it) and yes I made money when I sold it, but if I could go back in time I wouldn't have sold it to get a suzuki s40 (nothing against suzuki). If I could have it my way I'd still have my tw and my Harley XR1200.
When I get the Harley paid off I see a brand new tw in my garage. DONT GET RID OF YOUR CURRENT TW YOU WILL REGRET IT

Well I did not get rid of a TW, but left to spend the winter in the desert SW. Got out here, and wish I had brought the TW.

I found a used one, bought it, and then had to figure out how to haul it around.

It is main main day to day way to get around. If wife has to go, we take the Jeep.

I have been going back and fourth on what to sell and what to keep. I was thinking I would sell both the klx 140 and the TW and get an fz6r for more performance on the wide open empty roads around me and a ttr 230 for the trails, but I am now leaning toward selling the 140 and keeping the TW since it is plenty fun on the trails and will give me more versatility than a ttr.

About a month ago, I purchased a 1996 Yamaha Virago 1100, and sought the advice from others on this forum as I thought I'd neglect the TW and ride nothing but the Virago. The folks on this site set me straight, and the TW stays. She just has a bigger sibling is all.

Bought our T-dubs first. Then got the bug for a bigger cruiser. Trump america.. My wife had a yammie 650 already, she kept it.. Now we have a 4 bike stable.. We love taking the dubs out on our back roads where the big bikes don't go.. I can't see myself ever getting away from the dubs.. OMM.

I miss my first bike too. It was a CT70 which I sold for a XR100 that blew up 2 weeks after I got it. Didn't had the money to fix it (I was a kid), so I had to wait many years after to get me another bike!

I know what you mean ;-)

Hey! Nothing wrong with the XR1200. The riding position is so Un-Harley and more Buell-ish. (I like Buells) My first bike was an X90 Harley...sort of a CT70 looking bike. Then several years later had a 1975 GT550 Suzuki dressed to the max with Vetter accessories. That is the bike I miss the most. Bike I was most glad to get rid of was a 1972? CB450 Honda.

The XR1200 is on my short wishlist of Harleys. Very short.

Those old Honda 450 twins vibrated badly, as did most twins of their day. Not to mention the funky valve torsion bars and goofy diagphram carbs.
