I know this will be aggravating to many here but, honestly, I don't like my 2010 TW! It's noisy, uncomfortable, poorly geared, and simply not nearly as much fun as I hoped. It's become my third transportation choice. First, my 2008 Toyota Tacoma 4 X 4; Second, my bikes (I'm a competitive rider, on and off road, with a room full of bikes!; that makes the TW #3.

Actually, I'm going to sell the Toyota this winter, too, and re-think everything about what I want as essential transportation. I've been a cyclist since childhood and at various times I've been fully engaged with the cycling culture (See my book, NORTH BY BIKE). And motorcycles were a HUGE part of my life for nearly 30 years. But, oddly, they don't mean much to me any more.

So, the TW will probably go up for sale sometime soon, along with the Tacoma. I'll use my bikes for 'daily drivers' (and, yes, a bike can function very well even in Michigan winters!) and consider VWs (Golf and Jetta, maybe with the diesel), Volvo (C30) or the Subaru Forester. I've researched all of these and they all have very positive qualities for me.

I'm in Lansing. The bike is a 2010 model, 1500 miles, break in service done by dealer at 700 miles. I mounted a blue Jimbo shield and a rear rack. I have a tool box mounted as a top case but that can be easily removed. It also has a Yamaha extended warranty which, I'm told, transfers.

I looked through the CycleTrader.com ads the other day to get a sense of what a bike like this is selling for. If you have any thoughts, please let me know.

Thanks!
