Worked on TW saturday. Noticed muffler hanging out about 6 inches. How the hell did I not notice that when I parked it after last ride! I guess I must have been tired and it was dark. The two mounting bolts were missing so fixed that and on to upgrades. Installed headlight stone guard, coleman seat pad. Took fuel tank off and layed it on side. Removed petcock lever plate, spring and plastic cone. polished cone with 3m scotch cleaning pad, light film of grease on oring seal and reinstalled. petcock is now alot easier to turn. Get bike ready for search for waterfall/swimming hole I had heard about at Knoxville OHV but had not found yet. Found it on Google earth so know where to go. Up highway 16 (stung by honey bee on my neck, ouch!)and across Cache creek low water bridge. Wow, Water level is really high, just under bridge. Guess they must be releasing water for farmers from Clear lake and/or Indian Valley reservoir. Up rolling hills and two dual sport bike coming other way, we wave. Past Davis Creek Reservoir (hey the seat pad does help!). Back on pavement for about a mile into Knoxville OHV. Found swimming hole (quite deep) on motorcycle trail. A few small quads came by but a large hunting quad would be quite the challege on this trail. Eat lunch at swimming hole and found another new trail. Up trail until it got quite steep and rocky. Had a fun time trying to get bike turned around next to steep ledge. Head home and got 73 MPG (very windy on start of ride).
The Black Widow strikes again! In a good way. Those are some awesome photo's of what looks like a really fun place to ride. Might be a great place to stop at during the heat of summer. I love exploring and finding new places (to me) and it looks like you have as well.
Interesting you mention your loose exhaust. At the end of our (Ron, Ken, and me) 8th Street ride, I noticed Ron's exhaust was missing a mount bolt and his tail pipe was hanging down. I've had two bolts come loose on me before too. One was one of the cyclerack mounting bolts. Actually, it was gone and I used some wire to make it home. The other was one of the upper motor mount bolts. Bolt was still sitting on top of the head, to my amazement. Even used thread loctite. Good thing I needed to take the gas tank off, or I might have missed it. Wonder how long the motor mount bolt was off? Now I do a better visual inspection before "most" rides!
Admiral, mechanics wire in your travel tool kit is a must. amazing what you can wire up and limp home. Exploring and finding new spots to ride quads is why I got the Tw. I like it so much that gonna probably get rid of my ttr225. Don't really need two trail bikes and having one that is street legal is a huge advantage.
Since we are approaching Summer, maybe a thread on the "best swimming hole" could be put in place. I am not much of a swimmer, but I do like to cool down. Many years ago that generally meant jumping into the H20 butt naked. Now, my butt naked seems to merit a Yikes, at least when I look in the mirror.
I think it was hot enough this day for me to dis-robe and rinse. Suspect this spot is out of the way enough to not attract much attention, but those that happen by are surely tempted. Likely it was setup for water trucks needing to fill-up in an effort to keep the dust down on logging roads.
Wire is indeed your friend. Last Tuesday's ride required I wire my seat to the bike frame as it seems, I lost the bolt holding the right side in place. Gerry

Ive read that some get them at walmart but I couldn't find any in the stores in my area so I picked one up from Cabeles sporting/hunting store in Boomtown near Reno,Nevada. They also do online. It was about $25. Mine is a Coleman brand.
OK, this is primarily for total noobs and experienced road riders, just getting into off-road.
And even experienced off-road demons maybe, as a quick refresher.
And yes, we certainly are lucky enough to have off-road "pros" on this forum who could easily have scripted this vid!
I hope they will...

(I can't get this jpg URL to convert to the image. What am I doing wrong?)
Wanted to get out for a ride but wasn't able to till later in the afternoon. I decided I would just take a quick jaunt along some local service roads. Definitely wouldn't say it was warm out haha.
