Hello all, I've been reading these forums for a while but just registered.
I'm in the market for a trail bike, been looking for one for a few months.
I am a huge fan of the Suzuki RV200 VanVan, but it's Asian-market only.
As is the case with the Honda FTR223, which I've only recently discovered.
If I were in Japan, I'd have a hard time choosing, the RV200 or the TW200.
But since I'm not there, the choice is made very easy. The TW200 wins.

Anyways, I'm living in Florida right now, waiting for life to ease up a bit.
Then I'm heading to West Texas, where my 10 acres of desert awaits.
I'm either gonna try to get a steal on a used TW200 or buy a new one.
If I buy a new one, I'll have to wait until I'm ready to move to Texas.

Okay then, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to you all.

Welcome. Where in West Texas are you headed? Lots of nice country and people out there.

Years ago I did some consulting work that had me living out of a hotel in Van Horn for a few years. I like Van Horn and the people there were very very nice. While obviously an outsider with God forbid a California accent I soon found myself welcomed to many community activities whether it be local rodeos BBQs or volleyball games. I have very fond memories of the people and the region there. I hope you enjoy it too.

Thanks everyone.
I've been doing a lot of reading and planning and hoping.
First thing I'd do is put a X/O-ring chain on while the sprockets are new.
I am also very interested in the dual/dual sprocket mod.
I think I'd like to get the bike and ride awhile before deciding anything else.
Like which tires to run, shocks, racks and other accessories.

I may pick up a CRF230 and put a dual sport kit on it. I had a 150 and loved it.
Under-powered but extremely fun. I've seen like-new 230s for under $1500.
I plan to get the TW either way, but getting the 230 would set it back awhile.
So it's either take $1500 and buy a 230 and wait, or put it down on a new TW.
If I decide to sell my GS750, that should help me get part of the money I'd need.
I've been planning a VanVan 750 mod for it on the GSR site.
I listed it for sale on GSR, then changed my mind.

I still have so much thinking to do, it hurts my wittle brain.

Have fun folks, and ride well.
