Just got my new ‘23 in Knoxville, Tn. It was: MSRP 4,899 +325 destination +250 freight surcharge (which the’ve done since 2021 I believe) +199 assembly and prep. +149 doc fee +94.50 for registration and tags +tax 490.89= $6407.39 TOTAL-yikes!

Great info! Wasn’t sure if it’s high or if I should try! Thank you!
I know it does seem crazy I recall back around 2009 people would look at pairs of nice TW's I had for sale around $3k each and they would say we are just going to buy new they are only $3700 each new and literally 10 time out of 10 times they would call back the next day and ask if I still had my TW's for sale and they would buy them

The dealer was stacking on $2k per TW in fees and taxes etc and the people didn't know that til the dealer got them in the rubber room and put the pressure on to make the sale. the prices were so extreme people always said no and went and bought used

If you’ve located one, don’t mess around too long to decide. In my area, at least, they last 1-2 days after they hit the showroom floor. The same dealer I bought mine at, last year got in six at one time, and they all sold the same day. No B.S.- I heard this from another dealer (that only got two last year)-and my dealer did confirm that was true.

My buddy works at a dealership and they’re getting one in in April, 2023 model. I’m gonna have to put some money down to ensure it’s still there.

For $6500...I think I would look seriously at a WR250. Same weight-ish, tons more HP, 10" ground clearance & a much better suspension. I know....no fat tires, but tempting anyway.

Oh....and FUEL INJECTION!
Honestly I’m looking for trail and durability, which is why I haven’t gone toward a WR or YZ. The TW checks the boxes of the purpose I’d be buying a “Dirt bike” for, which is what drew me into it. Definitely could be better for some people to have WR/YZ, but for me I feel a TW will be the perfectly suited addition to my stable. Thanks for the idea!

I bought two 2011 TW's from a retired couple with about 800 miles on each with several useful modifications like a rack...installed pig tail and battery tenders ......even detachable windshields ......for 6k......had to drive about 150 miles round trip to pick them up...

I never buy new if I can avoid it......the internet gives every advantage to the buyer if he takes advantage of it...these were on Craig's List...for a couple hours.

I've had great luck with people saying they would hold a TW I can recall twice that the bikes got sold out from under me (say 1 in 100 occurrence) once the guy wanted a $600 deposit which I sent but my email got caught in his spam that showed the tracking and the USPS was a day late on the delivery

He called me all angry and said I was scamming him (this is the BS that the other buyer fed to him to get him to sell it out from under me) and I told him the funds were in the mail as agreed. two days later he called me and sheepishly apologized but the bike had been sold at that point so all he could do was mail my postal money order back which he did

that was many years ago and now I always mention USPS is notorious for being slow when mail is critically important lol

the only other snafoo was a woman selling a Rokon and she was too flakey to offer to send a deposit and I was at a RUSH concert that I had paid $1000 for a front row center seat and I had to stay in the concert town for 3 days before I could head her way and again another buyer told her it was a scam although I asked her exactly what the scam was since she had the bike and the title and I never even got to see it lol

I have already done 5 purchases in 2023 at great distance where people held bike(s) w/o a deposit and it worked out fantastic

Title kinda says it all, looking if this is a fair pricing for this unit. Looking to buy a unit this year.
Just bought a brand new one yesterday in St George Utah at Factory Powersports from Brandon Bladen. I live in Nevada so the $5979.00 price did not include taxes that I will pay when I register it in Nevada. Probably around $500.00 This sale was a dream. No pressure at all from Brandon or the final visit with the finance Lady. They are hard to get so order as soon as you see one available. I used the Yamaha site to search for a dealer near me that had one in stock.

the guy I bought my 2022 from in Reno said back in November the local dealer called and said they had 2 come in and they had to assemble them so he arrived at 9am and bought one and he said there were two guys behind him that each wanted one but they bought the 2nd TW and the other guy was still looking but if he didn't get right down to the dealer they both would have been sold
