just received the letter yesterday about my warranty being up in 3 days. No idea why im just getting the letter now. My 2013 has 1,500 miles on it. Pretty sure im keeping it even know im thinking about the ducati scrambler. Tdub will then be used for trails while the ducati will be my road bike. Thanks for any info

Depends on how much it costs, what the details of the warranty are, and how you take care of your bike. These bikes are quite durable. you really have to beat them to heck to make them die. Or do something really stupid. Both of which warranty folks cry foul about, not wanting to pay. My advice is that generally, unless you are completely unable to maintain the bike, that any type of extended warranty is not worth it.

One usually gets mostly peace of mind more than actual service from most extended warrantee programs. It ultimately is a personal decision.
Like most forms of gambling occasionally someone hits the jackpot but usually the house wins, that is why the house offers you the bet. It is a highly profitable bet for them, no wonder it is offered so often.
It takes a savvy salesman to first convince you the product is great and worthy of purchase, then once detecting that you are committed introduce concept that product isn't that great and will break thus requiring their proffered insurance.
I would pass on the TW extended warrantee since it should be reliable enough. I do get warrantee for electronic stuff. A five year contract on my TV was so long that when TV ultimately failed parts were no longer available so store had to return entire purchase price plus tax. In that case I won the bet. Store was OK with deal since my winnings were offset by so many, many others who lost the bet. Store was still very much the winner overall and was anxious to offer the bet to me again on another purchase.

The TW is such a simple and reliable bike that it would not be worth it to me. I have 12,500 on my 2010 with nary a single problem.

But, I have a lot of mechanical experience and am willing to work on most anything on the bike. YMMV.

I was the GM at a big Honda, Kawasaki & KTM shop. Extended warranties are a great source on income for the dealer at the time of sale and even better for the aftermarket sellers of complete JUNK warranties.

Put the money the extended warranty would cost aside and you will probably have a nice Christmas club savings account at the end of the warranty period. The fine print and what is not covered is the downfall of all these scams and I can tell you from vast experience because I was the idiot who had to brake the bad news to all who bought them.

Thanks for all the input...I have declined the extended. I am meticulous about doing all the maintenance
Ok so now that I just saved $200.00 what can I buy for my TW? :D

Rear cycle rack and still have a dollar left for a Snickers bar!

Take the wife or GF out for a real nice meal and a show. Goes a long way toward riding time! ;)
