This is the deal. I put a new DID O-ring chain and new 15/50 sprockets on my '06. They have 3000 miles on them now and I am still waiting to for them to need adjusting. 15/50 is like perfect but can we ever leave anything alone? I sourced a new JT 49 tooth, can I throw it on there ? Or must I wait till my present set wears out ? At the rate I'm going that could take another 20 years. Will it really destroy my beautiful DID chain and 15 tooth primary? Really it has not even needed adjusting yet. Give it to me straight, tough love, I can handle it.

I personally would not have a problem making the change now. Safety being my primary concern, I then look to convenience and comfort. Gerry

Thanks for the vote of confidence Gerry! I've tried most all the streetable sprocket combos. I even promised to stick with 15/50 as it is almost perfect for my riding. Well it's down to fine tuning now. Just one less tooth on back will make the engine a little happier on the freeway. But it is still a gamble because with 15/50 I can still pull most of our hills in 5th gear. I am very intrigued with the air/fuel ratio sensor as a way to tune my stock motor to perfection. You have one on your Tdub don't you ?

To each their own, but if you're happy with it then I vote you leave it. It's doing the job you are asking of it. I run a 14/47 at 70-75mph for half of my 23 mile commute to work, and at the end of the day I turn around and do it again. Let it rev!

I run the stock ratio and ride about 90% highway. I manage a comfortable 65 mph and can push 75 on the downhills..... it'll also hold 60 on the uphills...

I had a 47t sprocket and just changed it to a 45t. I don't like to run mine much over 60 because it sounds like it's trying to hard. Is it really okay to rev one of these that high for that long?
