I'm planning a Spring 2023 trip to the Kaibab Plateau, which is the National Forest that borders the North Rim of The Grand Canyon. Looks like there's a maze of forest roads to explore, and I am posting to ask if anyone would suggest specific interesting places to check out. Rather than wander about, I'm looking for cool spots as goals. I saw one video where a trio went to Crazy Jug lookout point. As always, I will be camping (dispersed) and trucking in my t-dub. I will likely combine a day in the Arizona Strip near Mesquite, NV. The Virgin Hotel and Casino is $30 or so mid-week, and I have stayed there several times.

Don't know name or number of some of the roads I've explored but be aware that south of Jacob Lake is closed between October 15th and May 15th. Deer are plentiful so exercise caution after dark. Buffalo, also.
I see that the elevation is high and I understand the road is closed in winter. I'm a tent camper, so I need temps above freezing! I live in the San Diego area, so this location is an easy drive. I'll be camping in Wyoming in July, just like the past 3 years. Probably hit Montana and Idaho in September. I spend the winter planning trips!

Thanks. The Grand Canyon itself is a nice addition, but this trip planning is more based on the proximity to my home, the fact that it's new to me and all the forest roads I see on the MVUM map. I just love seeing dirt roads on a map and then exploring them just to see where they go and if I can connect one to another. There are so few non-gated roads here in San Diego county, so I have to get out of the state to find more new and open places. We rode 40 miles on pavement last Saturday, only to find the gate closed because it had rained 3 days earlier!
