Hey, we don't want no 'Crying Game' for our friend, Blake now. Do we?
True, but sad, story.

I took a girl out on a date back then, and I wasn't a big movie watcher. She would NOT pick a movie....left it up to me. I don't recall what else was showing at that time, but if there was anything good out, I'd already seen it, so.....I chose the Crying Game. No clue what it was about.

Well, let's just say I didn't get a second date.

I have a complete Placerlode kickstarter kit that I would be willing to part with for $400. Even has the clutch holder tool.

Don’t do PayPal, Venmo or any of the other pay services. In person would work fine.

Just sourced another kickstarter gear assembly from a site I just came across... oemdirtbikeparts.com

Trying to get them to respond regarding availability, but for those of you seeking kickstarters, if Sebastian doesn't have stuff available, this could be a viable alternative. Website shows it's been updated 2022, so it might be accurate, looks like they pull a lot of factory leftovers and parts off of bikes.

If anyone does purchase a kickstart gear assembly from them, it would be good to know how the process went, and the condition of the parts received.
Forgot to mention in this post, looks like a used one goes for $275, a new one is $375, at least that's what's listed on there.

look at what I found on French TW forum. the only thing is the kicker itself - you will still need TW one
Does the 225 lever not fit properly, collide with something I guess? From what was posted about the other clone kit, the kicker didn't end up being that far off from the original.. but I see this kit doesn't list the tw200 as being compatible in the first place, maybe just because of the lever?

The XT225 kick lever will work just fine. The part that you will need though is the TW kick boss. That is the part that the kick lever attaches to and is mounted to the splined kickstarter shaft assembly.

Shoot, that link is long out of stock, just doesn't tell you until you try to place an order. Parts individually cost about $600 in funny money, looks like I will be holding out until another cheapo chinese alternative pops up. Mind you, softer, more poorly machined metal grinding it up in there might not be something you want to skimp out on compared to cosmetic plastics or something.

One I quoted from an earlier post, the dirtbike site looks to be in stock - I got confused by the hamster dancing and thought you were talking about the link from a previous poster. I may order from them this winter, unfortunately for me shipping to Canada a few miles over the border is $60, and will probably get dinged with $100 charge to import, so I will probably wait until I can ship to a warehouse in the states for free and smuggle it back over when I have some other business over there.

believe it or not I ordered all of the parts for a kick start conversion on Boats.Net just go to the yamaha tab and type the needed part #'s
Let us know if or when the parts show up. They are quite willing to take your money even though they don't have parts in stock.

It took only about a week for parts to show up
That's great! Boats.net is the same company as Partzilla.
Here's the link:
Yamaha Motorcycle 1999 OEM Parts Diagram for Starter | Partzilla.com

Part numbers 1 through 15 is what you need with two of part 14 for a total of $348.95 plus CA sales tax of $25.70 and free shipping total $380.14

You don't need to enter every part number, just click on the 'ADD' tab next to the part. Running price total in the shopping cart icon upper right of the screen.

Don't forget to order a fresh side cover gasket too.

ive wanted the kickstart for a while, Im going to start buying the parts piece by piece, some i can find on ebay but others it just makes sense buying off partzilla so everything is shipped together and im not paying shipping for each part off ebay separately. Hopefully this dosent get too costly but i know if i keep putting this off the parts will only get harder to find

A new hope?
Automotive tire Camera lens Font Screenshot Lens
Gas Auto part Metal Cylinder Titanium
Vision care Wood Eyelash Font Eyewear

Left is original from sebastian and right is the ybr one.
It will need 12x17 needle bearing and turning down the diameter and the shaft will fit. Both kick gear splines and kick lever splines are identical.

Font Audio equipment Gas Gadget Metal
Dishware Drinkware Tableware Serveware Grey

The spring is little bit different, but I managed to massage it. Should work good enough.

Kick and idle gears need to be original tw ones as ybr has less teeth. I may try kick gear from rt180 1W1-15641-00-00 as this one seems to be almost the same, but 0.2mm thinner. Oh and the reason for this and not tw kick gear is the former is cheaper
I want to try ybr kick lever as those are readily and cheaply available on ebay as these shafts. I hope the slightly longer shaft and the threaded part will allow me to clear the frame.

It should be cheaper. According to my calculations slightly above half of sebastian's original kit.
