I thought my KLR might be getting a little jealous of all the fun I've been having lately on the TW, so I decided to take her out and put some highway miles on her. I rode to the Kitt Peak observatory out West of town to get a closer look at the big telescopes up there.
The road to the 6750' summit is paved and plenty twisty, unfortunately it's also riddled with slippery black snakes that kept me from leaning over too far in the corners.
If you look closely you can see there are a good dozen observatories up on the ridgeline.
Close as I could get to the big boys.
An early DirecTV prototype maybe?
No guardrails = better views!
The TW would have been a lot of fun in the twisties, but it was nice to have a little more horsepower and wind protection for the highway there and back. In spite of the fact that I didn't ride my TW on this one, I thought the destination was interesting enough that somebody out there might enjoy seeing some pics!
